A Short Encounter
Who: Lena and Kevin
Where: Eden
When: Friday Evening, Nov. 27
What on earth was she doing here? Lena didn't usually lower herself to going to places like Eden. Mingling with humans was usually something that she didn't do, at least not random teenaged ones who ran around with more paint on their faces than most clowns would wear. She wasn't sure how Lilith and Damien could stand a place like this. Still, tonight she was bored and this was one of the few places where she knew she wouldn't be bothered. She didn't look to be the typical vampire, much less being one as old as she was. She looked like a well dressed woman in her twenties, wearing a pair of close fitting black slacks and black silk blouse that fell off one shoulder. Right now she was just watching people, seeing if one of them would catch her eye, either for food, play, or other.
Since Buffy had slayer-things to deal with tonight, and his sisters were off with their significant others, Kevin found himself just... sort of complacent tonight. Dressed in an all-leather getup of jeans, button-down shirt, and jacket, his hair slightly spiked, Kev sat at the bar, listening to the music and enjoying a bottle of cold water.
Lena had been scanning from a private table in a corner when she spotted the boy (and, since looks deceive, he really was a boy to her, even though she looked younger). Well, didn't he look...interesting. She was curious, though. Picking up her drink (it would look like red wine to the casual observer), she got up from her table and made her way over, sitting at the bar about two seats down from him. She looked over at him and smiled briefly before turning away. The trick was to catch their curiosity and make them come over. It was more fun that way.
Wow... The girl was striking, really. Very beautiful. If Kevin was most men, girlfriend be damned, he'd be over there flirting already. But he was a harder nut than that to crack. He smiled sweetly though, giving her a friendly little wave.
She scooted over a seat. There was still plenty of room between them, though. "Having a nice evening so far?" she asked him.
"Very much so... and yourself?" She... seemed to be flirting a little, but so far it seemed harmless enough. "I'm Kevin. Nice to meet you."
"Lena," she said, offering her hand to him. "It's...not quite to my taste, but it's always good to get out for a night. Meet new people, see new things."
"Shame... I could practically live here. Its like my own little slice of heaven." His voice had a sweet gentle lilt to it.
"What is it about this place that you like so much?" Lena asked, curious.
"Everything... The mood, the atmosphere, the music..." He smiled again, kind of wondering why she stuck around if she wasn't 'getting' it. "Pretty much all of it."
"The atmosphere is nice." She did like the darkness in the club. "I like that you have to get close to see people." Not her, actually, but she liked getting close to people anyway.
"Y-yeah... Closeness... Is nice." Something about her was skeeving him out a bit. She was gorgeous, yet was somehow setting off about eight different alarms in his head.
"Closeness is nice," Lena said, smiling at him. The ones that had the alarms ringing in their heads were just as amusing as the ones who never guessed, after all. All for different reasons.
Why was this girl creeping him out so much? It was just that... it felt like she was staring at him like a lion looks at it's prey. "I... um.... I think...." I need to get the hell OUT of here... "I don't feel very well... please, um... excuse me..." He stood, trying to smile politely, before taking off for the restroom, hoping to slip out undetected.
"Feel better soon, Kevin," she said, smiling after him and giving him a slight wave. This was an amusing encounter. Maybe her next one would last a little longer. She hoped so. She was starting to feel hungry.
