Becoming A Watcher In Training
Who: Jaide and Giles(OT Continuation)
Where: Watchers Temp Space Beneath Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Monday Evening - November 17
Jaide had gotten a tea and cup of coffee at Chloe's after recieving a message from Rupert to meet her in the coffee shop's basement which, according to her father, was currently doubling as the Watchers meeting place/Slayers training area. Jaide was still semi reluctant to join the organization, but repeated attempts by Rupert to pull her into things was slowly wearing the demon hunter down. The Giles family had been a part of the Watchers for decades and with Jaide being the next generation Giles it was only expected that she join the ranks of the "club". "Rupert?" The blonde called out when she reached the bottom of the stairs unsure if the guy was already there or if she had shown up before him.
"I'm here, Jaide." Giles said with a calm smile, nodding to her. He was actually alone for now, waiting for Faith to arrive for a short training session. He looked stuffy as ever, usual tweed suit and calm demeanor hiding the ruthless warrior within. "Glad you could make it. I.... really do think you could make an amazing watcher."
"I brought you a staple of a true Englishman." She said with a little bit of a teasing smile while offering the cup of tea to the man. "Because of the family lineage." It seemed he was reading from the same old book he had been for the past couple of weeks. "I'm a hunter, Rupert, not sure how well I'd do at being a Watcher." The blonde spoke with truth behind her words. Hunting and killing supernatural things she knew well, teaching and training a person to protect themselves agianst such beings, well Jaide wasn't all that sure about it.
"But I feel that makes you a perfect candidate to train young women to be that as well. You know, better than most of these trainees, what these girls have to go through, because you've LIVED it." He hoped he was making sense to her, as he took the tea gratefully.
"Why am I having this feeling you're not going to relent in your badgering until I accede to your wishes." Jaide returned to the man with a smile that indicated she wasn't irritated or annoyed with his constant pressuring. He did after all have a point. She had already gone through what some of these girls would only be beginning to learn.
"I... have been told I can be fairly persuasive." He retorted with a knowing smile. Of course, he could persuade with more than words, as his enemies knew. Just not many got to see that side of him. "I already have a few ideas of who to place with you, actually."
"Care to make me privy to those ideas?" Jaide inquired with a slight arching of her brow to the man. She hadn't agreed to doing the whole watcher thing and Rupert had already started thinking of who to place with her to train. Obviously he wasn't going to take no as an answer, even if it were the decision she had made.
"Well... we've got a few girls coming in, that we've found in various parts of the country, and back in Great Britain. One of them is a girl named Larissa, that seems... eager to get to the more physical aspect of things. She's one of the top candidates for you. Someone you can relate to." He smirked, knowing things could change at any moment.
"Sure, start me off with a handful old man." Jaide gave a light laugh. Leave it to Rupert to consider placing an eager beaver of a girl, and one from across the ocean to boot, with her. It would be a challenge to her, but Jaide rather it be that way as it would show if she were truly made of Watcher material.
