The devil lives among us....
Who: Willow and Lucie
What: An unexpected meeting
Where: Avarice
When: A crowded Saturday night
Willow had had a long week. The honors program at UCLA was certainly more riggerous than they made it out to be. Not that Willow didn't love the challenge, of course. This was nothing compared to all of those AP level courses that she took in high school. They weren't boring, for one. She could've slept all day in those and still come out of the exams with flying colors. Still, her schedule was crazy as it is, barely giving her time for a social life, not to mention her Watcher responsiblites with Jaime outside of school, she'd been going over the manual that Giles had given her every second that she got. Looking for a chance to unwind, Willow made her way to Avarice dressed in a snug, low-cut red silk blouse and jeans that were maybe just a little bit too tight (her fashion sense had improved that she had to admit). A smile on her face, and a virgin pina colada in her hand, she made her way to empty table, sitting down, not ready to dance just yet.
Lucie had had another endlessly long day of looking over papers and contracts she already had for the souls in her possesion. She had decided to unwind topside by herself, since Azrael was busy with other things. Lucie ended up at Avarice. She walked in and scoped out the room in one quick gaze. She was dressed in a short halter style black dress that hugged her form in all the right places. All of Lucie's outfits from her hair clips to her shoes were designer, mainly because she owned most of the top designers souls. Lucie walked over to the bar and ordered a comsmo, before finding an empty table to sit at and do her second favorite thing, people watching. Lucie loved mingling among the mortals even if there were a select few of them who could sense she wasn't human.
Willow had experience with non-humans, living in Sunnydale, she could say that much. Her magical abilities, though she didn't really like to admit it, were still growing, and she wasn't at that point where she could sense out non-humans yet, but maybe someday... She'd work on spells and such later, right now was about letting loose and having a little fun. Mingling. Forgetting all about the stress of the week and letting her hair down. Noticing the woman at the table across from her, Willow waved as her eyes met hers, a smile on her face. "Busy tonight, isn't it?" she shouted across the way over the bass of the music.
Lucie smiled as the other woman waved and shouted over the music. "Yeah." She replied, her tone was the same as if she was sitting right next to Willow.
Wow. It was almost as if she didn't even have to raise her voice at all. Also something about the other woman, Willow couldn't explain it, but it drew her in. Not wanting to shout and come off as rude, Willow picked up her drink and made her way over to the other woman's table. "I'm Willow," she said, extending a hand, "*I realize I probably could've just screamed that over the table, but I'd hate to be rude." A smile rested on her face.
Lucie smiled to herself when she saw the other woman get up and come over to her table. Lucie nodded when Willow said she didn't want to be rude. "Of course you wouldn't." She took a sip of her drink,.
Willow smiled weakly, afraid that she smelled or something. She did shower last night, didn't she? And she did put deordorant on before she came...maybe she could've put some perfume on before she
"So you come here often?" Lucie asked actually curious as to the answer. It had been ages since she ran into a real witch, not mention one as powerful as the woman sitting next to her.
Willow flushed. "Not really," she said, "I'm a bit of a geek, I'm afraid. Studies first, social life later, sad I know." Huh. That was strangely open for what could've just been a simple yes or no question. "What about you?"
Lucie smiled at her answer. "No, I don't get much free time." She answered, before sipping more of her comsmo.
Willow laughed. "You and me both." She sighed, taking a sip of her drink, "Still, it's nice to get out every so often. Get some fresh air.
Yeah I really should that more than I do,but my work keeps me way too busy and stressed at times." Lucie admitted.
"Yeah," Willow sighed. She knew how that felt, did she ever. "It's like that with me and school. If you don't mind me asking...what do you do?"
Lucie nodded as Willow talked. "I do eveerything and nothing." She replied.
Willow wrinkled her nose. Huh. "That...sounds pretty interesting I guess." Probably something to do with freelance. Yeah, that had to be it.
Lucie laughed. "You have no idea what that means, but it's okay none of you do."
Willow let out a nervous laugh of her own. "Umm...freelance? That's my guess."
"Not even close." Lucie replied with a small smile.
"Drat," Willow smirked a little, "Can't say I tried."
Lucie nodded and sipped more of her drink.
Willow laughed uneasily, feeling as if she had overstayed her welcome. "I think I'm going to go get another drink..." she said, "It was nice meeting you though." She walked away, a weird feeling in the pit of her stomach.
Lucie smiled and watched her. "Yeah everyone says that when they first meet me, then they tend to regret it later on." She mused.
