Another Recruit Who: Claudia and Liz Where: Random Diner When: Early Afternoon(Tuesday)
Claudia was just coming off close to a 12 hour shift in the ER with two things on her mind. One being getting the largest cup of something strong and black, the other was getting in contact with the woman Bronte had mentioned to her. Hopefully she'd be able to accomplish both wants before leaving the premises of LAGH. After changing into her street clothes and collecting the rest of her things from her locker Claudia phoned Dr. Elizabeth Todd and managed to catch the woman to set up a meeting. And it seemed luck was on her side when the woman agreed to meet her at a diner to discuss a little something Liz had in mind.
Liz just flew through her last few hours of her shift. Despite working a 22-hour shift and having barely slept since ending the 12-hour shift she'd done prior to it, she was jazzed enough between having Alice firmly on her side for her new project, and now knowing that she'd be going to meet this woman that Bronte swore would be willing to help. Walking into the diner, trying her best to hold back a tired yawn, the blonde slipped her white jacket off, taking a look around to see if she could spot anyone fitting the description of the women Bronte had described.
Claudia had kept her gaze pretty much tacked on the entrance so that she'd notice every person that walked through the door into the diner and hopefully spot the woman Bronte had mentioned to her. She had a vague description of Dr. Elizabeth Todd from her friend so it was her hope that she'd manage to spot the woman as she walked through the door. An sure enough when a blonde walked into the place faintly resembling the description she had, and still wearing her scrubs, Claudia cast a little smile in the woman's direction.
Still wearing her scrubs and white medical jacket, Liz mouthed the word "Claudia?" to the woman, waiting before just walking over. If this was her, she certainly looked friendly enough...
With a smile Claudia stood up with her eyes still trained on the blonde and when Liz finally did make that approach toward her table Claudia introduced herself formally with an extension of her hand out toward the woman. "Claudia Burrows. Elizabeth Todd I presume."
"That would be me." Liz took the other woman's hand and gave a tired smile. "I understand from Bronte that... you're in the know about the... stranger occurrences around town?" Because until she knew for sure what the other woman knew, you didn't just go around saying HAY HOW BOUT THOSE VAMPIRES, you know?
"Not sure about what strange occurrences happen around here in L.A." Claudia informed the woman lowering her hand with a motion to invite the other woman to join her at the table before she took her seat once more. "But I've seen my fair share of strange and odd in New York."
"So, when you say 'strange and odd'..." Liz smirked, hoping she wasn't making a mistake working it like this. "Are we talking in a way that... Bronte would be familiar with?"
"Yeah," Claudia answered back with a lowering of her voice when a server arrived alongside their table, thus momentarily interrupting their conversation. "Did you wanna order something?" Claudia asked Liz after placing an order of a cup of coffee for herself. She was figuring they'd be there for longer then a mere five minutes, and Claudia knew she could use at least one cup of coffee.
Liz gave a sigh of relief, and nodded. "You know what? Let's each grab some eggs, toast and coffee. My treat. We've... got a lot to talk about. I'm starting a covert team at the hospital. Our goal is to... give people like Bronte and the like the treatment they need without them having to tell lies and end up with subpar care."
Claudia smiled. "If you're treating how can I possibly turn your offer down." There was indeed much the two needed to discuss, this wasn't the type of plan someone came up with one moment that could be set into motion the next. Secrecy was of utmost importance if Liz was going to be successful with her intended goal.
"I guess the first thing, the most important thing, is that we build a core of people we can trust." The blonde was tired as hell, but trying to make sense. "We're all going to need to be able to trust one another implicitly for this to work."
"That's going to be the most important factor in this little plan of yours, Elizabeth." Claudia countered. That was the one man factor that worried her about the whole idea Liz was proposing to her. Trust was of utter importance if this was going to work cause if word leaked out about what they were doing it could prove disastrous for all involved. "I think once you recruit enough people to get this thing started we should all meet somewhere." It would help knowing just who she'd be working with and whos hands she was putting her professional career in.
