Interesting Proposition
Who: Lilly and Stephanie
When: Tuesday Night
Where: Eden
Stephanie had never been more glad of anything in her LIFE as she was that the big battle was over. They'd seemed to really kick W&H's asses, meaning that hopefully, they'd be too busy regrouping to even think about her for a while. Maybe she'd be able to finally make a life here... still, for now? It was bonding time. She knew Lilly had already heard about Paige's demise, but she still wanted to have a few drinks and make sure her band mate knew she was safe now. So she sat at their favorite table in Eden, waiting for her drummer to arrive.
Lilly walked inside of Eden, having made sure that she wouldn't be late tonight. She was actually able to enjoy the night again, she she wanted to celebrate it in style. While it didn't exactly feel great to know that her former best friend was dead, considering she wanted to kill all of them, it at least made her feel safer. She walked up to the table and sat down. "Hello there," Lilly said to Stephanie with a smile.
"Hi Lil!" Stephanie said with a big grin. She was dressed a little more fittingly for Eden tonight, forgoing her usual bowler hat and big dresses for black vinyl pants, a faded Misfits Fiend Club tee, and heavy black eyeliner and blood-red lipstick. "You look happier than Ive seen you since I joined!"
"Well, to be honest, I don't think I'm going to die just for stepping out into the night," Lilly admitted. "Sure, not exactly the safest streets to be on for sure, but I still feel that they got a hell of a lot safer, at least for me personally, you know?"
"I was kinda ticked. I never even got to lay a hand on her." To hear Stephanie make any claim to wanting a fight sounded almost hilarious, really. "I wanted to punch her out at least ONCE, you know?"
"I'm sure you would have laid her out good," Lilly said with a slight grin. "Still, probably better that she was taken care of without the chance for her to hurt anyone else, right?"
"Yeah, yeah... stillll!" She actually WHINED a little. "I wanted to be able to come back and tell Lexi I kicked her skanky vampire ass." Clearly, Stephanie worshiped the ground Lexi walked on.
Lilly laughed. "Like I said, bet you could, but I'm happier that it didn't have to happen."
"Kinda neat though... I grabbed this one vamp, she was coming up behind Gwen... that's one of the Slayers. Wife of the singer from Suicide Messiah... anyway, she was coming up on Gwen, right? And I totally dug my fingers into her back and RIPPED HER IN HALF." Stephanie was cutely excited about this. "I was totally covered in dust."
"Sounds terrible for a wardrobe," Lilly said. "Ever think of offering to help them out on a more permanent basis?" It did seem like something that she...well, maybe not enjoyed, but at least was good at.
"I've thought about it. I just... sometimes I just wanna at least PRETEND to be a normal girl, you know? Even if that normal girl is a wallflower who barely gets noticed at school." She bit her lip cutely, shrugging. "Although... I have a feeling that when we play that CD Release party, I'm gonna start getting noticed a LOT more."
"Hell yeah you are," Lilly pointed out. Lilly herself had been noticing her for a while now, but still wasn't sure as to what the girl liked, sexuality wise. "And screw high school kids. They are usually too dumb to see anything good in front of them."
"I'm kinda hoping that it'll give me a chance to be who I am, without putting up with the crap they give you in high school." To explain herself, she lowered her voice. "You know. Like... Ginny, right? She's never come out and announced 'OH HAY I'M GAY' but she doesn't hide it either. And she's proud of it. If you're a somebody and you do stuff like that, nobody gives you crap. Not that I'm gay. I'm not." She heard herself rambling and grumbled to herself. "I just... love people. In general. I don't really care about gender, I find both perfectly beautiful and I'm sounding like a total tard here."
"Actually, you're not sounding like a tard," Lilly said, glad that she had finally gotten an answer. "I know what you mean." She remembered high school, too, although they gave up on her by sophomore year because she just didn't react to the taunts. There were much easier targets to go after than one who didn't care. "Are you busy this Friday?"
"Nah. Basically, I have school, then practice with Lexi, then I'm free. I'd thought about asking my new friend Kat to go out, but I have no plans made yet." She smiled, those permanently fanged incisors glinting. "What's up?"
"You want to go out on a date with me, Stephanie?" Lilly asked, leaning a little closer over the table.
See, in the movies? This was where it would be sweet, and romantic music would play, and the girl who'd been asked would have some clever or sweet comment to make. But this was Stephanie. The Dork Wonder. When Lilly asked her that... her reaction? Was to literally spit her mouthful of soda across the room, right at some poor unfortunate man who'd been walking by. "...are you being serious?" She sounded shocked. Lilly just... never struck her as being into girls for some reason.
Lilly knew that, usually, she sort of came off as asexual, or at least disinterested in...people, really. It was a defense mechanism left over from high school. "Yes, I'm serious," she said to Stephanie. "Why would I ask if I wasn't." She somehow managed to hold back a laugh when Stephanie spit her drink on someone, too.
"Um. Wow." Stephanie looked amazed. Granted, they were only about two and a half years apart, but still: Lilly was out of high school, and completely GORGEOUS. "I mean, yes! I'd love to. Go out with you, I mean." She blinked and grumbled to herself. "And even better? Sometimes, I can actually complete full sentences."
Lilly grinned at her. "Full sentences aren't always needed," she said to her with a wink. "I'm usually happy with just panting and moaning, if you catch my drift." She laughed. "So...are you good with dinner and a club?"
"OH. MY. GOD." Stephanie blushed so badly that her face looked not totally unlike a red crayola crayon. Subject change imminent!!! "Yes! Dinner! Club! Excellent!" Was she overreacting? Well, she was hyper to begin with, at least on certain levels. Combine that with the shock of being asked out, and the fact that she was a virgin in every single sense of the word, and she was blushing to a degree that 'furiously' didn't seem to really do justice to.
Lilly just winked at her. She certainly wasn't going to pin Stephanie to a bed against her will, least of all because Stephanie couldn't really be physically pinned by her. But the girl looked so damn cute when she blushed. "Then I'll pick you up at seven then. Friday."
"I... I...." Stephanie looked caught in headlights. Not that she was against this plan, far FROM it. She was just shell shocked. In a good way. "That sounds really good!"
"Fantastic," Lilly said, smiling at her. She was going to make sure that Stephanie enjoyed herself, though.
