Chillin'
Who: Lilly and Stephanie
Where: Eden
When: Saturday Night
Lilly had wanted a night on the town. Sure, she feared going out at night, due to her former friend being out on the loose, but she didn't think that the vampire would approach her in the club. She hoped that she had more sense than that, anyway. Besides, she needed to stop hiding away in fear, anyway. This was getting ridiculous. Besides, she had a feeling that Paige would be dealt with soon enough, one way or the other. She was gonna burn out fast.
While not a club-girl by trade, Stephanie had technically spent more time at Avarice than anything, either hanging out with Lexi or just jamming to the music. Eden was a bit more gothy than she usually got... but she knew this was the virtual HQ of her new band, and hoped she didn't stick out like a sore thumb, wearing a long plaid skirt, a black pleated blouse, and her usual bowler hat. She had that usual sweet, goofy smile as she looked around the club.
Lilly was looking around the club, seeing if anyone she knew was in there tonight, when she spotted Stephanie. When she saw her, she gave her a smile and a wave, motioning her to come over.
Stephanie waved to Lilly, still feeling as much like a bandmate by gratitude than anything. She hoped that eventually, that feeling would change, and chalked it up to her own insecurities. She skipped over to her, not unlike a child playing hopscotch, that infectious grin on her face again. "Hellooooo!"
"Hey," Lilly said with a smile. "Didn't know that you came here without it being a playing night," she said with a slight grin on her face.
"I..." she wasn't going to lie, it'd only make her seem MORE lame. "I just figured if we're gonna playing here a lot, I should try to get to know the place, so I don't feel as weird when we actually perform."
"That's not a bad idea, honestly," Lilly said, agreeing with her. "It's a pretty cool place. I mean, it's a completely different atmosphere from Avarice, but I prefer it. It's...a little calmer."
"I've been starting to take real lessons every day now." She said proudly. "I'm self-taught, but Lexi's been trying to help me get even better."
"Few extra lessons never hurt anybody, but don't let yourself get fooled. You're more than good enough as it is," Lilly told her.
"Th-thank you..." she said quietly, and someone who had only seen her goofing around would never suspect she could be this quiet and fidgety.
Lilly arched an eyebrow. "You're very welcome," she said to her. "Don't get all bashful on me now. You know you're good."
She said nothing there, not wanting to sound like she was fishing for compliments. "Well... I just hope I can do you girls proud. I want to be as big a boon to the band as I can be."
"Well, I think you're going to be, so don't worry so much about it," Lilly said to her. "So, let me buy you a drink, then. What's your poison?"
"Blood, please." Then, she paused a beat, and started laughing. "Sorry... had to see your face. Just iced tea, please."
"Wrong place for blood," Lilly said with a crooked grin. She flagged down the bartender. "Ice tea for the lady, please?"
Stephanie tried to act relaxed. Like this was all old hat to her. And she was failing miserably. "So. Um... heard from that girl that was bothering you lately?"
Lilly shook her head. "I think she hung around my apartment while I was away, though. It was trashed all to hell. I had to replace pretty much everything. Haven't heard a peep since what happened to Kevin, though. Not really like her at all."
"Oh god... I heard about what she did to that poor guy..." The young dhampir's face fell cutely. "Such a handsome guy, too... is he gonna be ok?"
She nodded. "She didn't do any sort of thing that would kill. She wanted to hurt his voice. Nobody's sure what it's going to sound like when he heals up, and I think that's the worst." It would be the equivalent of cutting off her fingers.
"I mean it, Lilly... if she comes anywhere near you, or Ginny, or Lady G..." She gave a glare that was probably meant to look far more threatening than it did. "I'll kill her myself."
"Hopefully, that won't be necessary." Lexi had told everyone about her in the alley, so Lilly bought it. She just *really* hoped that Paige would disappear and never be heard from again. Out of sight, out of mind.
"Ginny called me this morning..." she added, looking a little excited, figuring she'd made the same call to the other girls. "So... I guess we're gonna find out our new name in the next day or so. Whenever she can get us all together."
Lilly nodded. "Yeah, she called me, too." She couldn't wait to hear what Ginny came up with. It wasn't like she really cared what the band was called, anyway. As long as she got to play, she was fine being in the band 'Bert and Ernie' for all she cared.
"I really... I really want this to work. I'm SO excited about it." She said with a big grin. "I've been so nervous or excited about ANYTHING"
"Well, don't worry. You're going to be excellent," she said with a grin. Lilly reached over and touched her arm. "You're great at what you do, you know that?"
"Aw." She said with a giggle. "Ok, now you're being nice. Good I could accept. Great? Great is Lexi."
"Look, Lexi's the bomb. We all know that," Lilly said. "I think you have what it takes to be every bit as good as her, though."
"Well... I will admit: with her as a teacher, the chance is there." Steph said with a grin. She obviously was starting to practically idolize the other guitarist. "I kinda started writing something myself, but I think it's a little cheery and upbeat for Ginny to want to use." The girl giggled there, unable to picture Ginny even trying anything upbeat.
Lilly smiled. "Well, then maybe I'll have to get a private performance sometime then," Lilly said with a slight grin on her face.
"Anytime!" She said with a pleasant chirp. "I love playing, so... you might have to sing if you want the lyrics with it though. When I sing cats cry and run away, and mothers hide their babies."
Lilly laughed. "I can carry a tune, but not much more than that," she admitted. "I'm certainly no Ginny. That girl has some pipes on her."
"Well... we'll have to see then." She laughed lightly, the sound having a sweet, chime-like sound. She was starting to feel a lot more comfy around Lilly. She took her tea and raised it to the other girl. "To being bandmates... and friends?"
Lilly raised her own drink. "To being both," she said with a grin.
