Nodded at him when he gave me the same old song and dance official answer.
Smirked at what he had to say about burying the guy. What makes him think that he was going to catch him after so many failed attempts? I didn't ask him that though. He had been kind enough to let me in in the first place. At least now I knew that he actually did, in fact, realize that these were not killings by animals. Which was refreshing for a non-hunter.
I studied the body, or what was left of the body and saw something metal glinting underneath some flesh. "Gloves please?" A forensics guy handed me gloves with a questioning look on his face.
"It's not like I can mess the body up any worse. You already got everything you need?" The guy nodded and said, "It's all finished except for bagging it up."
Shaking my head, "That's where you're wrong expert." Slipped the gloves on my hands and pulled what was left of the victim's abdomen to the side. Pulled out what was left of a military dog tag necklace. Wiped it clean with one of my clean gloved fingers and read it. It said, Lydecker, Donald on it. The necklace part was broken. "This mean anything to you? The victim was clearly female."
