Looking for a lost dog.
Been on the road for a few weeks now and I'm starting to think the Sam in this world thinks he's me or something. Ran across a nest of vamps in Boise that had been slaughtered, empty rock salt shells laying around as evidence he'd been there. Followed the trail to Missoula and found out he'd laid down the biggest salt circle the world's ever seen, protected the whole town from a were pack until after the full moon. Lots of grateful locals talking about the dude in the black Impala. He'd only been there two days ago.
Tracking him was starting to piss me off. Never had a problem catching up to his slow ass before, how the hell had this one gotten to be so cool? As much fun as chasing after him was I did want to get back to LA and check on Sol. Since the longer I go without talking to her the bluer my nuts get.
Even tried calling Bobby's old number, but just got a disconnected recording. Wonder what happened to him in this world. Or Ellen for that matter. Did they all get picked off by nasties? New Dad was a ghost, figured that much out from Sol. Maybe I don't want to know what happened. But knowing Sam, he'll have plenty of answers when I catch up to him.
Moved down the road to Butte. The nice thing about these Montana towns is they have about three cheap motels per city. The second one I cruise past has my baby backed into a parking spot, looking as shiny as the day I last saw her. Decide to dump the shitbox on the street, leaving the keys in it. Still have the keys for the Impala and I take them out, tracing my fingers lightly along the hood as I walk around her. "Damn good to see you again sweetie." Unlock the door and slide into the seat, putting the keys in the ignition and looking around. Its my baby alright. Start looking through the tapes in the console, wincing at some of the shit he listens to. "He's really making you play Celine huh girl? That's got to suck."
