"Damn, do you see it out there?" Dripping on the floor by the fireplace I dropped the load of wood I'd brought in. Should have grabbed my jacket before going out. If I didn't change quick I was going to get another cold and that was the last thing I needed.
"Yeah, thanks. That'd be great." Pulled my shirt over my head, throwing it on the floor with a wet slap. Wasn't like it would be the end of the world if she saw me without a shirt on. Besides I was freezing with the wet shirt sticking to my skin.
Opened my bag up on the couch digging out a fresh change of clothes. Could feel her eyes on me, staring at my back. "Yeah I know. Lydecker and I had a nice little tussle in Chicago."
Besides the bite scars on the back of my shoulder the claw marks stood out, grooves still but into my back from where the bastard had done the worst damage. "It was his second murder, at least that we know of. Thought it was a rabid dog at first. Unloaded a clip into him when he charged, not like it did any good." Still didn't know why it had let me live. I'd fought back until I couldn't anymore. Would have stopped Lydecker then if I knew it was silver I needed.
