He grinned. Anne hadn't called him "Daddy" since she was too small to see out of a Viper cockpit. "Thank you."
Lee put a hand to his head. "I know, honey, I know... I mean, it's ridiculous, right?" He laughed at himself, wondering what the fleet would think of seeing their Commander pacing back and forth in a tool room, acting like the flustered and overwhelmed father he was. "It's not like you're going to pack up and move to another Colony, right? That's always what freaked out parents before." Maybe he was rambling, but Lee didn't notice. "The best you'd be able to do is resign and move to another ship."
Pausing, Lee looked back up at Anne. "But you're not doing that, right?"
