Very carefully, Anne exhaled. No one was getting airlocked or getting thrown in hack. The fact that her dad had just called her husband a little 'rough around the edges', though... she wasn't sure whether to laugh or be indignant and settled on a small smile that she directed toward the floor.
When she finally looked up, she took a deep breath and exhaled again, this time with a sigh. "No, they're not married. Although..." She raised her eyebrows as if she were thinking about proposing the idea and then put out both hands in a gesture meant to calm him. "Kidding. I'm so kidding. Promise. They're not married and I don't know that they're planning on it." Yet, she added silently.
She ran a hand over one of the shelves as she thought. "Nothing's going to change, Dad. If I marry him now, five years from now or six months ago..." She lifted a shoulder and looked her dad square in the eye. "It doesn't change the facts. What's done is done and rough around the edges or not? He's family."
