This is where she would swear, if Cecilia swore. Instead, her jaw just clenches. She goes back into the kitchen and rinses the rag in the sink while she masters her anger, and then comes back out to sit beside him.
"I'm sorry," she says, putting her hand on his knee, "I am so sorry."
