Her breath was coming faster now, the tingle, the prickle, that had awoken her so much more concentrated now that she was standing next to Elaine. It was as if all of her was alert, now, parts of her she hadn't even realized were numb. Meghan's eyes went from staring at the pattern to Elaine, the dark brown pools of them lit by the candlelight, wanting and hungry and scared all at once.
"It feels..." Closing her eyes, she let out a slow sigh, taking it all in. "Ancient. Like we shouldn't be going that deep, shouldn't be reaching that far."
Slowly, her lids raised again and Meghan half smiled. "Teach me. Show me how you do it."
