There was a quick thrill at that, a kind of tumultuous mix of amusement and pleasure. Lexi colored briefly, her thumb running lightly along his lower lip, and she smiled at him. "I do like Sophia," she admitted with a low laugh. "Though I think I'll keep that for just us, in an effort to save your manhood. How about Ben?"
Lexi shrugged a little. "Not much to tell. Dad walked out on us, took me a while to get over it. Mom remarried, kind of, to Nancy, who gave me my first whisk and taught me how to bake. They died about eight years ago. I stared moving around then and never stopped."
Her fingers turned in his, lacing them together. "Where are you staying? Or have you decided that yet?"
