Feeling guilty, even though she couldn't say why, Lexi nudged a kiss against Elaine's jaw. "Hey," she whispered, squeezing her hand. "Come back to me, Elle." She could feel the other woman shutting down on her, could sense that closeness, that vulnerability, ending a little. Even though it might be sensible, to let things end naturally, Lexi found herself not quite wanting to let go. Whether that was of this specifically or the feeling, in general, of being so connected, even she wasn't sure.
