Another chuckle, and Nathan scrubbed a hand through his hair, making it stick up all at ends. "And here I thought I was hiding it better," he said, shaking his head. "No, but thank you. You've been very kind. I'll manage."
He wanted to keep walking. He'd come back for his truck and bags later, but right now, he wanted to see if the reason for him packing up everything and driving to some heretofore unheard of town would just jump out at him. Maybe he'd find the answer and could just go home.
Yeah, he didn't really believe that, either.
