Sam is on his way home from Lenten meeting, walking with his hands in his jean pockets, in a slow kind of saunter, the way they walk in the country. His tousled hair is shiny in the late sunlight and he's squinting peacefully up at the sky. God is good; Sam knows it.
Unfortunately, the whole not-looking-at-the-road-ahead thing means a collision with Clara is almost inevitable.
