Who: Queen Eleanora and Prince Charlus What: Early morning ride Where: Eilean Donan, Scotland When: 15th July, morning. Status: Closed/complete Warnings: None
Charlus' planned afternoon tea with Eleanora had unfortunately been set aside the previous day; they had both had duties to attend to, and as it was nothing urgent, nothing that involved his estate or the kingdom, it had been delayed. They were due to have their meeting this afternoon instead. Charlus' brain apparently had other plans. He had had a restless night, was up well before the sun, and so decided to join Eleanora on her habitual morning ride. A little later, up here - the grounds around Eilean Donan weren't nearly as friendly to horses, which necessitated waiting a little longer for the sun to light the way.
Charlus was first down into the stables; his staff had two horses out, fed and brushed, and Charlus had his saddled and ready to go by the time he heard Eleanora's footsteps in the yard.
"Good morning, your Highness," he called out, ducking under his horse's neck and walking towards the Queen. He had shed his jacket while putting saddle and bridle on his horse; he lifted it off the hook and slipped it on, tugging the sides of the jacket straight as he reached Eleanora.
