You do something to me...
Who: Charlus and Anaïs What: After-dinner stroll along the shoreline When: Saturday evening Where: Eilean Donan castle, Scottish Highlands. Warnings: Um....none yet?
Their first dinner at the castle had been wonderful; just the four of them, getting to know one another a little better. Eleanora and Anaïs were delightful company and Charlus had found himself spending more time watching Anaïs than eating - something he rather hoped she hadn't noticed. He was acting like a lovesick fool after only spending a few evenings with the Princess. In anyone else, he'd find it hilarious. In himself - it was unsettling, and yet he couldn't deny that he enjoyed feeling like this. Distracted. Unsettled. Dreamy. Not ways he ever would have described himself before.
After dinner, he had suggested that he and Anaïs take a walk along the shore before the sun set - it could be couched as an excuse to leave the newlywed King and Queen alone, but Charlus was just as keen to have some privacy himself. They took only 2 attendants with them; one of Anaïs retinue, and his own. He had rather hoped it would be Gerald, the man could be trusted to look the other way. Luck wasn't with him however. Jenkins was considerably more concerned with keeping up appearances and had a knack for interrupting at the damndest times.
Still. He had a beautiful companion walking at his side, and the weather had held. He couldn't wait to let her see Eilean Donan in twilight; it was his favourite time of day to be out on the shore.
