2:00 PM-Waterfall Near Fairy Woods (Kent/Please no one else be around)
"You are to be my Dark Prince!"
Kent stared at the fussy man who had just addressed him, too surprised to do much more than blink at him. Someone—possibly one of the PAs—rushed over and quickly explained that they were on the last shoot of the day, and they desperately needed someone to stand in for one of the players who hadn't showed. The whole area was in chaos, and the only reason he was even anywhere near the damned picturesque waterfall in the first place was because it was on his way to another enclosure where he'd wanted to check in on one of the creatures he'd recently treated. His immediate desire was to flat out refuse—was "fuck no" too harsh?—and had even opened his mouth to do so when he noticed some of the Reserve board members and directors talking in a little clutch off to one side.
Suddenly, he found himself caught in both Elaine Constantine and Orpheus Vincent's line of sight. They were both watching him carefully, but Vincent's gaze was amused and curious while Constantine looked like she was primed to intervene when he turned nasty. It rankled in a way that made him turn to the harried PA, and—because he could be contrary as fuck when he wanted to be—say, "Why the hell not. Where do you need me?"
The PA almost cried with relief and ushered him to a small tent that had been set up off to one side. It was hair and makeup, because of course it was. Kent sat down and began to think about anything else—quantum theory, Tony's laugh, a new study on ventricular reconstruction in pixie breeds, Cate's smile—while a small crew worked furiously and professionally around him. When they were done, he refused to look at their handiwork; there must have been something in his glare when he'd first arrived that told them that he wanted no visual memory of what was to come. They'd even occluded the mirror for him, thank god, which he probably should have found suspect in and of itself. Whatever, he was doing this.
A hush fell over the assembled crowd as he stepped out into the afternoon light. He wasn't imagining things. They were all staring at him.
