11ᴘᴍ :: ʀᴏʀʏ ʙʀʏɴɴ :: ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇsᴇʀᴠᴇ :: ᴏᴘᴇɴ This photoshoot was honestly starting to get to her.
Rory wasn't certain how she got roped into being the photographer's assistant but she had been and Aurora Jolene Brynn never backed down from a job. Even if it was a job she hadn't applied for. The one thing she seemed to get right in her life was working and this had been no different, it seemed.
She'd been told to be careful. She'd been told to make sure she didn't piss him off. This photographer was known to be incredibly difficult to work with. That people had left in the middle of shoots before because of it.
All it had taken, however, was one. One single comment he'd snapped out at her. After everything she'd been holding in, it was that one single comment that chipped the glass bottle and Rory... Well, Rory showed her southern roots in one of the truest ways she possibly could.
The little blonde put her hands on her hips, her eyebrows furrowed, she took three steps closer to the man, and she let him have it in front of God and everyone.
The thick twang she already had seemed to thicken even more as she stood there and put the man in his place without even so much as using a curse word and, by the end of it, she'd gotten an apology and newfound respect from the man in question. Strange, really, considering he didn't really show anyone else the same courtesy. But that particular conversation was going to be held for now.
The problem was that, in helping the photographer, her own paperwork and duties had lagged a little. For the last three days, she'd stayed late at work to finish and then gone home and gotten about three hours of sleep before having to be back at work and start all over again. She hadn't done that since Laura's wedding, but here she was, determined to get through this last day coming. After that, she could take the weekend to do whatever she wanted.
Maybe she'd buy a hammock and just camp on the lake or something for a night. Maybe she'd spend the weekend losing herself in music and the stars. There were three new planets to look up stuff on she'd read. One by Neptune and two in another galaxy. And a couple of scientists had just figured out how the galaxy with no dark matter was made. That would make for an interesting read as well.
Plus, she had Farrah's meeting on Saturday. Maybe something good would come from that. Farrah would certainly love it no matter who all attended. She was always the gracious host no matter what came about. Rory would have to bake something for her. Show her that it was appreciated. So maybe she'd bake something for the meeting.
She just had to get through tomorrow first. After all, there was a jackalope that was damn near ready to pop and that's where she was headed now, even in the dark. At least to check on her.
