faraboveruby I tried all week to get a good picture of a billywig but not sure I even got any billywig at all. Those things are just too fast! But I did catch a sun scar moth, which are native to the area and also FIRE RESISTANT. Th-F Snowcap went Sleeping Beauty with a thorn wall around the town but they got it down. And Saturday the amazing @dancingquinn came with me to Billings for a service project. It was a fun morning and we got a lot done! And we had nachos, which are not the point of service but they help. All done with my Bug unit now and moving on to bigger and wetter things with Water creatures! #byebyebillywigs #hellogrindylows #snowcapmt #brightstarreserve

Mom sent me your prom photos and I almost died, you guys are too cute. I'm glad you went still and I hope you had as fun a time as it looks! The Nameless One isn't important enough to let him ruin your night.
We had a ward cleanup yesterday and I ended up bringing a friend with me! A lot of the reserve people went on a big Vegas trip this weekend and Quinn's just 19 so she stayed behind and she seemed pretty down about it so I invited her along. I'm kind of surprised she said yes! I told her we'd be doing a bunch of cleaning and clearing without magic but I guess she was feeling left out because her roommate went without her and they're really close. And I get that obviously and I like Quinn, she's really smart and funny. So it was nice to have her along and I think it cheered her up, so that was good. It's too bad you can't come visit. I think you'd like her.
They asked if she was coming to church too but she just said maybe, and then she wanted to sleep in today but that's fine, I was surprised enough she came to the activity! But everyone asked after her at church and she seemed surprised when I told her that. But it's probably a good thing she didn't come this time because one of my friends was having really bad anxiety today so I spent the first hour focused on her until she started knitting and that calmed her down a lot.
How's Sky doing? I've texted him a few times but he's been really slow to respond. Is his work going okay? I need to call him but it's always hard to tell when people are going to be busy or not.
Sunday school was interesting today because for a while I thought I'd read the wrong lesson, then it turned out we were playing catchup and doing two lessons in one. The one I'd read was about the woman taken in adultery and studying it made me REALLY MAD because I realized something I never thought of before, that it's really unlikely they just happened to find her there doing that, and it's way more likely that they knew she'd be there and what she'd be doing. So they set a trap for her! So when Christ said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" he wasn't just saying that like, okay but you've done bad things too, you're all sinful. He was saying they were just as guilty as she was of that specific sin because they made it happen. And realizing what they did made me FURIOUS because she was the only one they brought to be judged and stoned, they didn't even bring the guy! But because we were doing two lessons and the first one was more about mercy, I had time to calm down and I'm glad, since the point of that story isn't "look at how corrupt the pharisees were," it's mercy and repentance, and not judging people so harshly.
And that ties into something someone in class said. She said that we tend to perceive injustices against us differently than we perceive the wrongs that we commit against others. We're more likely to excuse ourselves (even if it's a 10 thousand talent issue) than we are to excuse others and whatever our sins are we'll still ask for mercy. And if we do receive mercy we're more likely to be merciful to the next person who hurts us. I thought that was a really good point. (I still have feelings about the story though and I'm going to talk to Aunt Marnie about it, I want to see what she thinks.)
Hope you're having a great Sunday! I sent you an owl, it's a package for Mom for Mother's Day. (But there's something for you too! Love you!)
