briarrose While you make a good point, couldn't it be argued that it wasn't exactly "religion" that caused the Dark Ages, genocide, or other detrimental occurrences so much as it was man's general nature to be fallible? I make the argument all the time that just because I believe in God doesn't mean I believe that the Bible is 100% correct. It may be God's Word but it was transcribed (and re-transcribed, translated, edited) by men. God is infallible but Man is not. We constantly misunderstand or misconstrue or twist facts around us to fit our own beliefs instead of what the truth may be.
