After her conversation with Uma Brightstar, Rory thought long and hard about what her plans were going to be whenever (if ever) she decided to go down the particular—and lengthy—road of becoming an animagus.
She'd gone to the library and checked out every book she could find on animagi, looked up everything she could on the internet that she had time for, took a lot of notes. And the halfling still wasn't done yet. Not by a long shot, she knew. Mainly because there was still a lot of details to remember, so she was trying to figure things out step by step. Make a plan. A to-do list. Something that would make it completely impossible to fail or get things wrong and cause herself to transform into some hideous half person, half creature monster.
It hadn't even really been an entire day since she had that conversation, so there was no way she was starting now. On the contrary, what she was starting now was that list. And continuing her notes. She had to admit, it was a little disconcerting not knowing what animal she'd turn into, but at the same time, it was kind of exciting. Something that she had absolutely zero control over. It was a little exhilarating. And possibly the outcome that she needed to further get to her goal of being who she used to be.
So after work, she'd grabbed two of the books she'd checked out of the library and hit the park in Snowcap, settling on a bench and letting nature lull her into a relaxed state so that she could focus on the pages and her notes. Rory didn't focus on those around her. She simply listened to the music coming from her earphones—field music from Ocarina of Time if anyone managed to recognize the soft echo—and wrote down whatever she was reading across the page.
There was a lot of information to take in, but she knew that from her previous run-through of the material while in Hawaii. She'd put it off here, choosing to see if she could connect with people and get familiar with the terrain. Now... now she was focused again. On her job, on what she wanted, on her own goals. She had things she wanted to accomplish. This was just the first in a long list.
