This had nothing to do with Ford. This had everything to do with Rory and what she tried to do for people as a whole. She was kind because the world was not. Rory challenged people to do what they were scared of.
Or, well... she had. Now, she just needed to find that woman again. The one who did whatever she could for people. The one who always put others first.
Just because this woman was just one more knick in her armor didn't mean that she wouldn't put her before herself if the situation called for it.
So, when Andi did exactly as Rory generally expected she would—take the fish in hand and return it to the water—a look of pride flashed across her features for a moment. Good. At least the other woman had a determination to her.
"I'm sure it is. And I'm sure it will. Well done, Miss Kingsland." She grinned as she picked up her basket of caught fish and reached down to scratch Loki behind the ears one last time. "You'll be a pro at this in no time. As for me, I've got fish to fry. Keep the rod. You'll need something to practice with."
The wink she gave the other woman was playful, a carefully constructed mask meant to display someone who wasn't as lonely. A mask that Andi had seen unadorned whenever she and Lokie had come upon her. "I'll see you around, Andi Kingsland." She slipped back the same way Andi and Loki had come, thankful that she didn't live far from the lake.
