She'd changed the subject because Rory was just as uncomfortable talking about Ford as it seemed Andi was. Better to go ahead and change to a subject that didn't make them both struggle than to alienate someone else just because of her own feelings. She'd done enough of that to last her a lifetime. She was tired of it.
The smile that crossed Rory's face as she described what her family usually did on the water was one of familiarity. "We did that, too. Dad was a suckah fer tha watah. But, we also lived in Texas... an' in Texas, ya learn how ta fish. Wanna give it a hand?" She'd done the same thing with Ford once upon a time, teaching him how to cast the reel into the water. He'd done alright the third time he cast, but that was when he cashed in his chips, so to speak. "It's easiah than ya thank. Mostly it's all about patience."
