"Ahh, so he knows how ta play keep away then? I thank an equal numbah of kids both love and hate that game," she chuckled, reaching for her rod again. If the pup liked to go fetch and then not bring it back, she could do both at the same time... and hold a conversation with the other woman who'd joined her.
With the rod in one hand and the stick in the other, the blonde gave it a heave, letting the pup go after it, and then followed with casting her reel into the water. "Yer not wrong," Rory answered, looking out over the water. "This place has helped me settle a couple of times now. Tha one at tha reserve, too. Only thang bettah is when yer actually in tha watah. Funny, thing, huh? A Texan who loves her beaches settlin' in a place like Montana. Go figger."
As Andi explained about the dog, Rory nodded, smiling softly. "Yeah, Ford's definitely tha sweetest person Ah've met out here. He's been a real hero, even when he don't know it." At least, to Rory he'd been. She suspected that was likely to change now, though.
