Who: Cate Adler + curious townsfolk What: It's not haunted, but it sure does seem like it is When: Wednesday, July 3, 2019 Where: The Crimson Kestrel Warnings: To be discovered!
Cate is back from her extra-long weekend in Mexico, looking happy and rather tanned. All would be well, except something isn't quite right at the Kestrel. The more she uses her runes, the stranger things are getting: glasses floating, chairs moving on their own, dish-washing bubbles in the air, random snippets of music playing, etc.
It's almost as if the Crimson Kestrel is HAUNTED!
(Except it's not.)
VOLUNTEER SLOTS
For all of these, the character attempts a minor spell while inside the building and...
[GREEN CHARACTERS are part-Beings. BLUE CHARACTERS are not.]
CHARACTER 1 gets a [non-harmful] opposite effect.
For UMA BRIGHTSTAR, the magic does not work at all. Any other spells this person attempts for the next three hours (whether in the Kestrel or not) do not work.
NORA ADLER is unable to speak for the next five minutes (and the spell doesn't work).
BENNY ADLER is unable to hear for the next five minutes (and the spell doesn't work).
For TONY WYRZYKOWSKI, CHARACTER 6, and CHARACTER 7 it works as expected.
And the special snowflake, LINA OKEANÓS, uses magic to counteract the effects of Cate's haywire runes and/or any other of the above spells, and it works as expected. (But triggering the runes still causes new weird effects.)
OOC NOTE
This weird magic is in effect at the Crimson Kestrel until further notice. (Ping Tracey on discord if you want to play with it and have questions, but as long as you're in this vein of effects, you should be fine.)
