8:30 ᴘᴍ :: ɴᴏʀᴀ + ᴍᴀᴛᴇᴏ + ᴏᴘᴇɴ It had taken Nora and Mateo a good bit to finish getting ready for this whole masquerade thing. As someone who had never quite seen his wife dressedformally with the added mystery the mask she'd slipped on offered, it seemed that the man had been unable to not make good use of said wife. It took them a little longer to redress and for Nora to redo her make up and hair than it had originally. Lord knew that she and Teo could be... enthusiastic in their endeavors.
That was the reason they were running thirty minutes late to the event in question. But, with her dress flawless, her mask straight, and not a hair out of place. No one would ever guess what the two had been up to before their arrival. Well... no one who didn't know them, that is.
"Wow, this place looks nice. They outdid themselves this year," Nora commented, holding on to Teo's arm as they entered and looked around. To be honest, though, Nora wasn't just here for the scenery that this place always offered. She wasn't even here to try to schmooze with the moneyed and elite (though she would be doing that as well for the Reserve). No. What Nora always enjoyed here was the food. Between the buffet and the Viennese Hour, Nora had left last year so full she was surprised she hadn't popped a stitch in her dress.
This year, however, things might be different. Last year she hadn't had Mateo Santiago as a distraction. Her date had been some guy from town who had been so boring she'd damn near fallen asleep. Teo, though, there was no doubt in Nora's mind that he would make tonight a whole lot of fun. And afterward, well... who knew what the plans would be. Nora had a good idea, but with the after party she'd heard about, there was the slim possibility that Teo might want to go to that instead. Either way, tonight was going to be good for both of them. They needed the good.
