Malik caught that look and just grinned. What was a younger brother for other than to annoy his big sister? He loved her dearly and owed her a whole hell of a lot. When their parents had died, she had only been eighteen and he ten, she very easily could have said she couldn't raise him and let him go live in foster care. But no, she'd dug in her heels and accepted the responsibility of raising him. It had been hard here and there, but she'd stuck through it and he'd learned to respect and love her in a whole new light other than 'sister'.
"That is a fair point," he laughed. "I am just your little brother, but I'm not going to really let you embarrass yourself in front of some guy," he shrugged. "Either way, you've got yourself a date. Just have fun, and I'll be there if you need me." He was the romantic one, believed in love like his parents had; his sister was the complete opposite and though he liked to tease her he did hope she'd find someone to love and settle down with one day. She deserved some happiness.
