Who: Yvaine and Merlin
What: Watching the skies.
When: March 3d, late night.
Where: Roof of the Zenner building.
Rating/Warnings: G so far!
Status: Incomplete/open

This world was strange. As far as Yvaine could figure out, she'd been thrown forward in time as well as falling out of the sky. And the world was not what she was used to. She didn't understand so many women wearing trousers - she'd ventured out and managed to use the small stiff card to buy some dresses and some blouses and skirts, but nothing looked like what she was used to. The heat was strange, and apparently it was going to get worse. She didn't like having to rearrange her hair all the time.

More than anything, Yvaine could not get used to the loneliness. True, she had Obi-Wan in the apartment, and he was quite interesting, but he was so odd. And it wasn't the same as the constant presence of her sisters in the sky around her, and her mother lighting up the night. She could see them, but she couldn't feel their shining presence around her. She couldn't hear them singing.

Yvaine sat on the edge of the roof staring up at the sky, feeling very small and very lonely and very, very dark.
