Entry tags:jade shepard, legion

Who: Legion, Shepard and open!
What: Introducing Legion to the substance known as alcohol
Where: A local bar of some kind. Let's pretend the bartender is Danny Trejo.
When: Sunday night
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

Legion had taken to wearing a suit. It simply felt right, and comfortable. He liked the feel of it, and the symmetry of it. A black tie, white shirt, black jacket and trousers...a good combination. It made sense. He'd also learned to comb his hair, even if it did take several hours to perfect the symmetry. Shepard, on the other hand, didn't go for such completeness. He didn't understand it, but Shepard had always worked outside normality to an almost unsettling degree. Shepard was a variable.

Legion walked into the bar and was instantly struck by a nauseating smell that made him take one step back. He cleared his throat, and forced himself to keep walking. He saw Shepard sitting at the bar, and moved next to her. "Shepard-Commander."

Shepard was the opposite of a suit wearer. She never even felt that comfortable in army uniforms, and once she was able to get into her own gear it was always casual and informal. Armor was what she liked the most, but it'd be stupid to go out drinking with a set of that on, especially since she didn't arrive in any of it. Her short blond hair was lucky if it saw a brush, usually tousled and free to do whatever, and she was in loose pants, cargo boots, and a simple gray tank.

She was already on her third beer when Legion stepped into the bar. Although hazel eyes kept looking straight ahead and Shepard was chatting amiably with the bartender, she always noted when a person came in and out. It was the predatory instinct in her, always on alert for an enemy or someone looking for trouble. "He'll have a beer to start," she told the server and looked over to her teammate. It was interesting how Zenner put them all in bodies that were completely alien to them, but somehow always kind of looked ... right. Legion's traits and tics came out in that form, and it felt like him.

"Take a seat. How you feeling?" The last time she saw him, he was not having a great food experience.

Legion's forehead creased in light concern at having a beer ordered for him, but managed to relax as he sat down. He exuded a small sigh. He was still learning moderation, particularly when it came to food and acceptable levels of public nudity. "I am feeling...better. Better than I was."

Legion cleared his throat. "You look very nice today, Shepard-Commander," he said, practicing what the irritating surgeon was saying to the female irritating surgeon on television. "How are you?"

He'd be fine. Shepard really didn't want to replay him getting sick everywhere, and she figured his tolerance would be low. If he wanted to be human, he'd have to learn moderation sooner or later. "Good. I guess telling you that would happen isn't the same as experiencing it, huh?" It was hard to explain to him and EDI things that seemed so simple and natural, and they reminded her a little bit of toddlers. Always asking why and what's that and how.

His compliment gained an arched eyebrow and an amused smile, nudging him playfully with her elbow. "Aren't you a gentleman. Thanks, Legion. You're looking snazzy yourself." He did too. She approved of the clothing he chose for his build and style, even if it wasn't close to her own. It suited Legion. "I'm alright. Surviving. There's a game on." She tipped her beer glass toward the television. It wasn't a sport she really cared about, but the energy in the bar was the fun part of anything like that. "Have you tried out alcohol since coming here?"
