The tone of her voice again caught him by surprise. For a girl who seemed so fragile one second, she sure as hell didn't sound it like the next. She apologized again though and Caleb shook his head. "No, not long. A couple of weeks maybe. I'm used to things being a little less than normal lately, but werewolves and portals... those are new."
Caleb heard Miranda let out a 'hmph' kind of noise at the mention of less than normal, but all he did was give her a hard look in the rear view mirror. Lissa couldn't hear her commentary, but Caleb definitely could. Yeah, their lives had been pretty fucked up in Ravenswood, but this was an entirely new level of fucked up as far as he was concerned. Though given that Miranda had died she might have disagreed with that.
He was definitely surprised at what Lissa was saying to him, but after some of the things he'd seen both in Ravenswood and now in Breakwater Point, it wasn't entirely unbelievable. After a moment he finally nodded and glanced at her after stopping at a light.
"Okay. So, these... creatures. How do we stop them? And how are people supposed to know if they're good or evil until it's too late and they're ripping someone to shreds?"
One thing was for sure and that was Caleb needed to stock up on some weapons. He wasn't a stranger to guns, but would that work on a werewolf? Did he need something silver? Caleb wasn't one for werewolf and vampire movies. His science fiction consisted more of the tales of Middle Earth and ghost stories. He already had the friendly ghost, but if Orcs started coming through that damn portal then there was going to be a problem.
