Miranda had already disappeared from the bathroom before Caleb was able to help Lissa out the door. He saw her again in the emergency room lobby looking lost and confused and helpless which was a lot of what everyone here seemed to be feeling. Thankful that Lissa had her eyes averted to what he was about to do, Caleb saw two guys talking frantically to one of the poor doctors and there was a set of keys hanging out of one of their back pockets. With one arm around Lissa's thin frame, Caleb easily lifted the set of keys without much notice. It wasn't the first time he'd pick-pocketed someone after all.
Once they were outside, Caleb wasn't sure where Lissa was going at first until he heard her gasp and then turn towards him in anger. He looked past her and saw the little boy on the ground. He was so young. He barely heard Lissa's questions to him about the woman he helped here until Miranda stepped in front of him, blocking his view from the boy which helped him snap out of his gaze.
"I.. she was talking out of her mind," Caleb finally said and started helping her to the parking lot. He clicked the automatic lock on the set of keys he'd stolen and was thankful when he saw a set of lights flash on a navy blue Jeep not that far away. "She had deep scratch marks all over her arms and part of her stomach and she said something attacked her. It wasn't that far from where I'm staying, but I didn't see anything or anyone when I got there."
They made it to the car and Caleb helped Lissa inside the passenger seat before climbing in the driver's side. Miranda naturally appeared in the backseat without much help.
"What do you mean a creature?" He asked before turning on the car. "You mean like a a wild animal or something?"
