"Hi, Caleb. I'm Lissa. It's nice to meet you." Simple manners took over and it was actually kind of nice for a moment to just follow her instincts rather than thinking too hard on anything. Of course, the feeling of relief only lasted for a split second before her reality set back in. It was difficult to even think about leaving this bathroom but she knew she would have to go home eventually.
She had been so careful about not using too much Spirit at work. Every once in awhile she used it, she couldn't help herself. There was a reason why she worked in the NICU. If she was going to use the magic, she ought to use it on children, babies specifically in that case. There were some cases that had been seen as purely miracles as Lissa had managed to sneak in and work her magic on them. She knew she could only do so much but it was difficult to watch the suffering of others knowing she could do something to stop it. She knew the cost could potentially be her sanity but she couldn't think about that. She knew she was dangerously close to the edge. Some days even lifting her head off of her pillow seemed like a tremendous effort.
"I'm not here to see anyone. No. I actually work here." She would have asked about the woman he had helped to bring in but since she had already been put in triage she was in the capable hands of doctors now. There was only so much Lissa could do. A waiting room full of injured people and she was already burned out. She had worked too much Spirit today and with nobody to draw the darkness away from her, she had to let it settle around her uncomfortably.
"Not that it's your business." There went the manners. Too much Spirit had a habit of making her a little bit crabby and Lissa had reached that point about an hour prior to Caleb finding her in the bathroom. She needed to feed and the bloodbags at home felt like they were light years away.
"Sorry," she said sullenly. "Do you have a car? I could use a ride home." It was dangerous to get into cars with strangers. Rose would have an absolute conniption. Even Sydney had a hard time seeing Lissa out and about with no guardian the first time they had run into each other in town. But now Lissa took care of herself and that was just the way it had to be.
