She said that she was fine, but Caleb wasn't so sure. There wasn't a lot of blood exactly but it was pretty obvious to him or anyone else that what this girl had done had been self-inflicted and that worried him more than the amount of blood. He wasn't sure what she meant about trying to help since she didn't seem to be dressed as a nurse or a doctor, but then again with what all was going on out there the staff needed as much help as they could get.
"Me? Yeah, I'm fine." He looked down at his clothes and realized some of Evelyn's blood had rubbed off on his clothes during their walk over when he'd been helping to hold her up. "This isn't my blood. I brought someone in who'd been hurt. I didn't see what happened, but her arm was basically shredded and she had other scratches all over her. The only thing she could tell me was that it was some kind of monster and that the marks were from claws. I think she was too freaked out to remember all that happened."
If she'd been trying to get away she probably hadn't gotten a great look at whatever or whoever it was that had attacked her. Whatever it had been it was sure as hell something nasty to have cause that kind of damage.
"Oh, she's..." Caleb glanced to his side at ghostly Miranda and then back at the girl again. How did he explain the fact that his "friend" was actually a ghost.
"Something isn't right with her, Caleb," Miranda said urgently. "You need to help her." He didn't reply but still cut his eyes over to her as if to say how? because besides the obvious and the cutting, he didn't have a clue what she meant about her not being exactly right.
"I thought I saw her come in here, but I guess I was wrong. It's been a long day. The lad. I helped bring here wwho'd been hurt was taken back to triage a little while ago, so I was trying to find Miranda so we could go." He kept on watching her and the more he did he was starting to believe Miranda was right and that something wasn't okay with this girl. It was almost as if she seemed to be in some kind of distant haze.
"I'm Caleb, by the way. I haven't been in town that long, so I'm still finding my way around here. Is there anything I can help you with? Is there someone you're here to see?"
