Alec ambled slowly along a line of trees, one hand extended, fingertips brushing slowly along the craggy bark as he walked. His sister was nearby, he knew, but he wasn't in a hurry to bother her. Jane would come to him, if she wanted something.
It was interesting, here. Along the border where Carlisle and his kin couldn't pass. A treaty made by their own agreement, Alec knew, but it was strange, still. The smell of the wolves was strong here. It wasn't a pleasant stench, but Alec almost liked it because of that. It was interesting and Alec had been alive long enough that novelty was sometimes of greater value than pleasantness.
He turned as he sensed Jane's approach, ducking his dark head in a nod of hello, mouth curving up in a fond hello. "Jane," he greeted.
