Who: Alice Cullen and Jasper Hale When: Evening, December 3 Where: Forks, The Cullen house. Specifically their room What: Alice and Jasper talk about what he plans to do concerning the Volturi Rating: TBD
Jasper was sitting at his desk, looking out one of the many windows that lined the walls of the bedroom he shared with Alice. His mind was working a thousand miles a minute, and he was sure Edward was probably going nuts because of it. He was contemplating ways to initiate contact with the Volturi, how best to convince them of his sincerity, and keep their trust. He would probably have to let his power come into play, to help keep suspicion to a minimum. Felix was no doubt his best bet. The two already had spoken once. It wasn't exactly casual chit chat, but they had a certain understanding of one another. They were both soldiers, and their minds functioned in similar ways. It would be easiest for him to get in through Felix, he decided.
What he wasn't doing, was stopping to think about the family and more specifically, Alice. If he did that, then he knew he would struggle to go through with it, and Jasper had to keep his wits about him and his guard up if he was going to pull this off. The thought of separating from Alice was.. unbearable. He was going to be a wreck, but he'd try to focus that energy on the fact that what he was trying to do would hopefully help bring vital information to his family and ultimately keep Alice safe. For the latter, he would endure the anguish of being without her. He knew that was going to be what kept him going. That, and the love they shared. He did have some fears, though. There was the chance that he would lose his control and succumb to his vampiric instincts. Being surrounded by vampires who lived as they wanted and believed they were above everyone else was going to be a harsh influence on him. He hoped he was strong enough. Maybe, this whole thing was a subconscious attempt to prove to himself and the rest of the family that he wasn't the weakest link. On some level, it probably was, but Jasper wasn't that involved with himself that it was his only motivation. He just wanted to keep Alice safe.
