"I missed you too, Ness," Jacob said, reaching down and ruffling her curls for a second before he bent practically in half to reach down and hug her. When Quil had imprinted on Claire, Jacob had accepted it but hadn't quite understood it. Jake hadn't quite understood the depths of how deep the devotion would go, how it wasn't creepy or weird.
But having Nessie there right now, he knew that this was right, that everything in the world made sense because she existed. He would move mountains for her and it was out of real love, not some cheap imitation or creepy devotion.
"Did you grow a few inches?" He asked, examining her with squinted eyes. Sure, he didn't have to do that with the perfect vision that the shapeshifters had, but it was too much of a habit to break. "I think you grew since the last time I saw you," he nodded with a smile as he stood again and offered her his hand so she could lead him to wherever she liked. "What did they feed you in New York?"
