"Arrogant little berk," Marcus shot back, though it was said more out of affection than malice. For as long as he'd known Patrick, the kid had more confidence than Adrian ever did. Must get it from Tracey.
Marcus glared back at the younger wizard next to him, daring Patrick just to elaborate on what he had been thinking that night. If he could remember, considering how pissed he had been. He chuckled, taking a large gulp of his coffee and draining the cup then reaching out and putting it on the sofa table in front of him. "I think we've gone over that incident enough as it is, anyhow. But I reserve the right to bring it up when you're being a little snot," he told Patrick, then leaned back into the couch.
He wasn't surprised at all when the younger wizard switched positions and Marcus found his lap occupied and him looking up at Patrick. Marcus exhaled slowly through his nose, getting comfortable.
"I know, because your father and I have been mates for longer than you've been alive," Marcus said in a low voice. "And as far as who I've fucked in that list?"
He put a hand behind his head, relaxing under the weight above him. "You're the only one who's had that privilege."
