RP: It was NOT last-minute shopping
Who: Toby, Bailey
Where: Diagon Alley
When: August 29, 2024
Rating/Warning: Should be clean
Summary: Toby did NOT wait 'til the last minute to shop
Status: Complete
He hadn't meant to put it off quite this long, but one thing had led to another, and the next thing he knew his dad was asking him when he was going to get his shopping done.
He'd waited until the weekend, which meant he either dealt with weekend crowds, or scrambled on Monday and hoped they still had the books he needed.
Weekend crowd it was.
List in hand, Head Boy badge attached to the shoulder of his robes - just for fun, of course, and not to brag - Toby wove his way through the crowds. Maybe it was just him, but the first years looked smaller and smaller every year.
Pausing to help out a Muggle couple with their Muggleborn witch - they'd simply looked so confused! - he passed off one of the maps and pointed out the shops they were going to want to hit, and explained a bit about wizarding currency. He'd explained a little about the school to the curious little witch - but not too much. Some surprises just shouldn't be ruined.
Waving to them, he departed to head off to do his own shopping. Robes first, because his were short on him, then books, then a snack, then gazing longingly at quidditch things, then ... quills and paper and maybe he'd swing by Wheezes if the crowd wasn't too bad.
