Lorcan had noticed the moment that Dylan had arrived, and was confused by the way that made his heart beat faster and palms sweat. He'd just about worked up the courage to go over and say hello, but Dylan had been talking to Minerva, and then Dom and who knew how many other girls over the course of the past couple of hours.
And he knew that he could go over and say hello, he didn't know Minerva or Dom very well, aside from being Albus' cousin and friend, but he felt oddly weird about it. Especially since he was pretty sure Dylan was flirting with both of them. He recognized the smile and the way Dylan looked at the girls from the way Dylan smiled and looked at him. And he knew he had no right to be upset about it, but he'd thought...he'd let Dylan kiss him. That meant something, didn't it? Maybe only to him.
So he'd retreated to the kitchen, ignoring Sandy's concerned looks, and fussed with the potions, even though it was a needless act. He nearly jumped when he heard someone come in behind him, but a glance over his shoulder showed that it was Dylan. Who looked really nice, and was already clearly slightly drunk. Lorcan himself had limited his intake to one beer, wanting to be able to administer Potions appropriately if needed.
"I'm not avoiding you," he denied, taking the offered beer and avoiding both eye contact and touching Dylan's hand. He put the beer on the counter and went back to reorganizing the Potions, this time by the color of the vial rather than by potion name. "You were busy."
