Ben had begged off work an hour early, pleading a headache and while it wasn't the complete truth, it wasn't a lie either. He'd promised Hannah he'd make the time up, or take an extra shift to give her time off, but he had something he needed to do before band practice. He knew himself well enough to know that he wouldn't be able to concentrate until he'd done it. He was a man on a mission, even if part of him knew that this mission was bordering on foolish.
He walked down Knockturn Alley, far more confidently than he felt. He wasn't a regular presence here, at least on his own, so it wasn't an entirely comfortable situation. But he'd heard rumors of a wild man working at the newly reopened Borgin and Burke's, and he knew somehow that it was his wild man. After all, how many six and a half feet tall men with dreadlocks were there running around Diagon Alley?
He wasn't entirely certain why he was making the trek, except that he kept replaying their conversation, and he wanted to know if the man had any information of the wolves that had attacked Jazz. He was less certain if the man would be able to help with Dale's experience, but this man was the only person he knew, beyond people at the Ministry and his friend's themselves, who might be able to do something about it. And at the very least, he could pass on the information Jazz and Dale had given him, on the places they'd been attacked. Because despite the articles in the Prophet, for once Ben didn't have any faith that the Ministry was going to be able to do something about the werewolf attacks.
His wild man, however, might be another story.
Which all explained why he was biting his lip and looking at the empty shop. Squaring his shoulders, he opened the door and stuck his head inside. "Hello?" He couldn't very well call out for 'Wild Man', which was what Ben had been calling him, and apparently so had the rest of Diagon Alley who'd come in contact with him. "Anyone here?
