Eternal Oasis Open House
Who: Everyone (add your tags if you attend)
Where: Eternal Oasis Spa in Dorinta
When: Saturday, 18 December, 2025
Summary: It's time to put up the tree

The Eternal Oasis Spa. Vivianne adored the imagery that name suggested. Unending. Never-changing. Relaxation. Luxury. And that was what she'd built into the establishment that would act as a gateway to her other, more exclusive, endeavours here on this backwards little island.

Décor ran toward a simple, yet lush style. Lines were clean in both functioning design and the spare pieces of art adorning the walls. Candles afforded most of the lighting, set in precise groupings in each room. The fabrics and colours, however, were anything but plain. To offset the neutral cream walls, chairs and sofas, linens, etc. were in rich browns, vibrant oranges, and deep golds or greens for accents, crafted from silks and satins, chenilles and egyptian cottons.

The reception itself was held in the front part of the property that would serve as the day spa and drop-in centre. The waitstaff was made up of a combination of spa employees and assorted other members of Vivianne's staff, serving hors d'oeuvres and champagne. In the main reception area, a string quartet was playing, while out in the central garden a small area had been set up for select performances in voice and dance -- all performers chosen from amoung the young men and women who worked for Vivianne's more exclusive interests.

Tours of the weekend stay facilities that made up the back of the property, consisting mostly of small 'bungalows' for private pampering, were conducted every half an hour through the length of the party.

And, of course, Vivianne herself, in a 1890s inspired vintage dress of gold silk and brown velvet, was on hand to greet guests as well as looking for prospective future clients -- for all her business ventures.

Dorinta was quickly becoming one of her favorite places. After picking up her Christmas present for the twins, which she officially decided they would love, Katie made her way to the opening of Eternal Oasis Spa. While she never had an issue with relaxing, she wasn't one of those woman who 'pampered' herself. She was mostly there to see about perhaps picking something up for her sister-in-law.

Thanking one of the wait staff, she took a glass of champagne and sipped it. The place gave off a very calming atmosphere as she looked around.

Since her mother's return, Margot was spending a little more time at home. She was still working more hours than scheduled, but she managed to come home and sleep in her own bed more often. When the announcement of the spa opening, the three of them made to trip over to the spa.

Margot handed one glass of champagne to her mother before grabbing glasses for herself and Marlene. "Shall we take a tour first?"

Marlene hadn't asked Alastor to accompany her to the spa. She wasn't that mean and there was nothing here that would interested him. Soap and water was as far as Alastor went in terms of pampering. It was hard enough to convince him to use the creams for his scars that the Healers had prescribed. Instead, she decided that a day out with her sister and mother would be perfect.

She took the flute that Margot offered with her left hand and took a sip. "A tour sounds great," she answered. It would give her chance to look at the layout, see emergency exits and check out that everything was fine."

Both her girls worked too much, Margot at St. Mungo's and Marlene up at the Ministry. She missed having time with them both - though even in her own time they had both had lives of their own, careers just starting. She was still getting used to making up for the years she had missed, and the changes in both her girls.

Which was why she was especially glad to be out with them today, the spa sounded like the perfect place to spend a little time, and it was the perfect excuse to get out of the house just the three of them. She liked all the people living there at McKinnon Court, the home was far too big not to have people living there, but she wanted time her her family.

Hooking an arm with Margot's Magdalene nodded. "Yes I think that is a wonderful idea, I'm so glad you both had time today. You know you both work far too much." She shook her head, brushing her fingers through Marlene's hair while they were shown around the facilities. It was all very nice, and she wouldn't even mind terribly coming back again at some point.

Linking arms with her mother, Margot held her glass in her other hand. "We both love what we do," she replied, knowing that their mother wanted to spend more time with them. "Besides, this would not nearly be as enjoyable without you."

As they were given the tour of the facilities, Margot asked Magdalene was settling in at home. "Do you need anything? Besides one of these massage therapist?"

"That's her excuse. I don't work too much," she said with a grin. "I don't work as an Auror; I am an auror." The fact that she was thinking about her wand while planning a visit around a new spa proved that.

"I could suggest a stable boy, but you wouldn't like that," she said, giggling. "I'd give suggestions, but you wouldn't like those either." She leaned closer and kissed her mother's cheek. "You came back from the dead; you need to shag. That's what you need to do, and then you'll worry less about our work schedule."

She truly had managed to raise two very self sufficient young women, and Magdalene had never been more proud to see the way they had both grown up. "Of course you don't love." Magdalene smiled shaking her head at Marlene.

"Well I certainly wouldn't say no to taking one of these massage therapists home with us." She gave Margot a sly look, "Maybe that one." She said, nodding in the direction of a very attractive woman explaining more of what was offered.

"No, unless you've changed your own preferences recently, and as I saw Alastor around the house this morning I'm going to guess you haven't, I don't think I would." She agreed with a laugh. "You are absolutely right, love. Though it is my right as your mother to worry over you, even when it is not necessary."

She rolled her eyes at her older sister. "Believe whatever makes you feel better," she said while flashing her sister a smile.

Margot didn't resist the urge to pat her mother's hand as she pointed out a particularly attractive woman she wouldn't mind taking home. While she didn't want to burst her mother's bubble over the fact these massage therapists were probably very professional, she just nodded. "Perhaps you should go ask if they offer at-home services."

Listening to her mother and sister talk about shagging made Margot feel out of place at times. "You just need to get out more."

"It has nothing to do with believing. It's just who I am, even if they want to bore me to death by putting me behind a desk," she said, with a sigh. She really hated not being in the field and she couldn't imagine how Alastor felt.

"Perhaps you should ask if they offer 'other', more personal services. I promise not to get involved in a professional manner if they do." She looked around. "They are masseuse. I bet they offer everything you want, however, that's boring. Finding someone is a lot more interesting."

Marlene laughed. "That's so funny coming from you. Mum, let's just take a look around and then you can take a look at the other guests. Plenty of women here."

"I'm sure you'll find yourself plenty to keep you from getting too bored." Magdalene assured her daughter.

Laughing Magdalene shook her head. "I am sure they offer things like that, but your mother is not so old that she needs a professional to take care of these things." She grinned. "The chase makes the whole thing that much more enjoyable, you know that."

"Yes, come on girls, I want to see what else they have to offer, before I look around. I'm here to spend time with you both first."

Margot was grateful for the fact she was hardly ever bored at St. Mungo's. There were moments, but she typically used the time to sleep or read new spells and procedures. "Should I be preparing for a psychotic break soon then?" she teased Marlene.

"Then go chase someone."

She sipped on her champagne and chuckled at her mother. "You spend plenty of time with us," she said. "Go have fun."

"Bite your tongue. We've had too many psychopaths around. I just don't like a desk, but that doesn't mean that I can't find a way to get around orders." Even when those orders came from the man she slept with. If anyone could understand, it was Alastor.

Marlene grinned at her mother. "The chase really is enjoyable, leaving them afterwards, too. Except for one." She hadn't left Alastor even when they weren't together.

She took another sip, but in the middle of it, her head started to spin and she reached for her mother, trying to steady herself, before it passed as quickly as it came. She took her wand out immediately and checked the champagne for spells, the glass for hexes. "Are you two feeling all right?" she asked as she repeated the spells on all three glasses.

"I hardly think you need anything as exciting as a psychopath to keep you entertained." Magdalene chuckled. "In fact I think we've all had more than enough of that for the rest of our lives - I'm sure you'll find something suitable in time." She was pleased to see that Marlene wasn't going to let expectations of the position keep her from doing what she loved - she had no doubt Marlene would walk a fine line between following the rules and getting away with things that might not strictly be allowed.

"Yes it is, and the leaving is always enjoyable as well." Magdalene made a habit of not sharing her bed with the same person too often - it only caused problems, and so few women were truly open about the idea of simply enjoying their time together without anything else involved. "I always did say Alastor was going to be special."

She was just about to continue though when Marlene reached out for her suddenly like she had lost her footing. "Are you all right, love?" She asked though the incident had been brief, but Marlene was checking their glasses and asking if they were okay. "Yes, I'm fine, but what about you. Are you ill?"

Margot couldn't help but continue to chuckle at her sister and her mother. There were times, such as this, when her own sense of humor was a tad on the morbid side. "I suppose I'll just stick to children sticking their parent's wands up their noses for now."

Smiling as her sister talked about Alastor, she could help but feel a slight twinge of loneliness in her own life. Not that she particularly was looking for permanent, something steady would have been nice.

As soon as Marlene began checking their glasses for spells or hexes, Margot's first reaction was that her sister was being paranoid. However, her sister's paranoia was very good at noticing when something was off. "No, I feel fine," she answer, her forehead wrinkling. Quickly, she snatched the glasses out of Marlene's hands and thrust them toward their mother. "Hold these."

She grabbed her sister's arm and pulled her to a place with better light. "Tell me what you felt and for how long." She pulled out her wand and began checking Marlene's vitals. "What did you eat and drink before arriving here?"

"Fine, no psychopath," she said with a pout, even though she agreed with their mother. If she never saw a psychopath again, it would be too soon, but she wouldn't stop looking. "Of course, kids that do that are just as bad as psychopath."

She nodded at her mother. Alastor was special and not because they were involved. He had always been special.

"Yes, I'm okay. It was just a moment." Of course, that didn't satisfy her. Just because she couldn't find something, it didn't mean that there was nothing.

She followed Margot, careful with her heels. "Just an instant, and I haven't eaten or drunk anything that you haven't seen me eat or drink. It was just as I drank the champagne, and it lasted an instant." She looked at her mother. "You can put your away if you want, but I'll take mine, and make sure that it gets checked at the office, just in case."

Leopold and Vivianne

Dorinta was coming along nicely, their preview night had generated just the right amount of interest in what they had to offer and all ready they had several new businesses as well as home owners in residence. It was all working out as planned, which was always a relief. It was such a headache to deal with things when they didn't go as planned and if this hadn't Leopold was sure he would have had to deal with it.

But he was spared that frustration today, and instead was at the opening of yet another new business, and unlike the others that had opened thus far, this one did not have a mortal owner, which of course generated interested from both himself and Josef.

"You look lovely, Miss Lautrec." Only the briefest quirk of the corner of his mouth relaying any emotion on his face for the moment, as he approached the owner, he wanted to get a feel for her and see the sort of person they would be dealing with now that she had opened her business here. It was certainly garnering interest from future patrons. "It seems you're having quite the opening, do you think business will be good?"

Vivianne was quite happy with the turnout for the Open House. The spa itself seemed to be in just the right niche. And she'd already spotted one or two potential clients for her other interests. All in all, it seemed a very good start.

Smiling as he approached, she dipped a flirtatious curtsey before offering her hand. "Why M. Mayer, I'm delighted you could attend this afternoon. The Los Angeles and New York openings were larger, but I'm pleased with the turnout here. The spa will do well, I think."

Other things would need more time to tell.

"As if I would be anywhere else today." He replied easily, grinning more openly now. "You know I always take a personal interest in local business owners." Particularly those who were involved in Belasi business ventures as Ms. Lautrec most certainly was.

A product of his upbringing, even now more than a century later, Leopold took the hand she offered bringing it to his lips briefly. "It is a rather different environment here than either Los Angeles or New York wouldn't you agree?" England would never have the same lust for life that Americans latched on to so readily, they were always much more sedate in their pleasures. That was was part of the reason it was always a pleasure to come back to places like this, though England was a poor alternative for his homeland.

And of course Leopold was simply very fond of Europe.

She laughed lightly, smile warming now that the opening gambits were out of the way. It was so much nicer when one could flirt with a charming man than standing on ceremony. "That must by why so many of them are loyal business owners, as well.

"Very different indeed." Vivianne nodded, thinking of the evenings spent on the town in New York, or Hollywood. The English needed quite a number of lessons in letting go and simply enjoying life in all it's facets. Always had. "This country is very...quiet. What is the saying? Water runs deep?"

He chuckled, first contacts like this were always important, but Leopold found it much better for further relations to make sure they both left feeling less like a business transaction had taken place and more like it had been a simple talk between acquaintances. "It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that ended up being the case."

He knew that Josef enjoyed America, and the many amenities the country had to offer, and yet, for all it's benefits Leopold would always chose Europe over the younger country. "There is something to be said for the sort of quiet that these English seem to embrace so happily." He nodded, "Yes, that is the expression, I think they will be only too happy to return to that way of life after all the recent excitement."

It was no wonder the English held so tightly to their traditions and histories, it was a comfort to know that some things needn't change after so much had been upturned thanks to one spoiled child.
