Snorting Charlie nodded. "Basically the Weasleys don't make good wives or marry them." He shook his head. "And I've lived with them my entire life, so I've learned not to say things like that when they're within hearing range."
"I'll hold you to that." Charlie grinned, god when had he turned into such a sap? But it didn't matter now that he had Callum here. Now that everyone who needed to know about the engagement knew and they didn't have to keep putting off what they wanted. And the rings were just an outward sign of that, something that he could show the rest of the world - and Charlie had to admit he liked that.
He laughed. "Have I told you recently that I am very glad you're not the mean sort?" He asked Callum with a grin, he wouldn't have even known what to do with a diamond. "A birthday gift and an engagement gift?" After the night before and now today coming back to his tent to find Callum there, Charlie was feeling spoiled when Callum pulled out another box from beneath the pillows. Really both gifts had been a surprise but this one, Charlie wasn't sure why exactly but this one felt all the more personal and private. He ran a fingertip over the detailing on the cross and smiled. "It's brilliant, really." He said after several long quiet moments. "Thank you."
