Bill chuckled. "What an innovative idea, I'd never have thought of it." It was strange, sitting here with his brother and a man he was going to marry. Charlie and marriage didn't seem to fit after all these years and yet it did somehow.
"Different situations," he said. "And you can be scared and still joke about things, it's all in about how you go about it." He remembered the twins jokes about Voldemort during the last war. It wasn't that they hadn't been afraid and worried, it had been about making a stand. Jokes were as efficient as anything else.
"Keeping the hurt pride to a minimum is a good thing," he said with a smile. "There are a few in this family who absolutely hate to lose." Ginny and Jamie came to mind. He smiled when Callum went on, rolling his eyes at them both, and shaking his head when Callum asked.
"I thought I would," he said. "But to my surprise I actually like it. Not the politics, as much as the research. I probably drive the researchers mad by my being around all the time, but it's fun. not too different from what I did before, though the research is a lot more varied than it used to be."
He shrugged. "It's not quite the thrill of being an active curse breaker and finding old tombs in Egypt, but as far as desk jobs go, it's quite all right."
