Callum knew that Baron was sheltered, and maybe to excess. He also knew that he was bloody hypocritical about this, but he'd rather have him sheltered than being at Eros being groped by random people. He's seen too many of those kids. He had been one of those kids and he didn't want that for his son. However, it still irked when Charlie said that he sheltered Baron too much, even if Charlie was just repeating what he said. "Let's worry about it when we talk to him."
He looked at Bill, wondering how he could joke about that. "It's not as fun as you might think. No one should live knowing the mistakes of the past, not when they have no memory of the things that could have led to those mistakes. It makes it harder to forgive what you don't even remember."
He still couldn't understand how everything seemed to boil down to Quidditch. "Is this some kind of test spouses need to pass?" he said, grinning. "If you can play Quidditch, then you can't be that bad."
Telling the entire story about the league didn't seem appropriate when the man had a daughter playing, so he gave Bill the edited version. "The league tires you out. It has nothing to do with the games but all that comes with it: interviews, parties, fame. It wasn't the type of environment I wanted for my son... and it's a lot more fun to avoid dragon fire than bludgers."
