Callum might not know Bill, but it didn't take a genius to see that the man thought this was insane. Of course, considering that marriages naked in bed and announcements after the fact didn't bother anyone, Callum knew that his expectations were outdated.
"I understand that this might sound strange, and possibly it's not done anymore, but I would not get married if either Charlie's family or mine had real objections to a wedding," he said, slowly. "That's why it's important to me."
He looked at Charlie, smiling, and then back to Bill. "You didn't go against your parents' wishes, because there were repercussions. From what I've seen only the upper class seems to care about any of this, and even they aren't so strict about it, but I was born before World War Two. You simply don't get married without the families' approval. I do appreciate the congratulations, and for the insanity-" Callum shrugged. "We're fine at the reserve, and we can still feed people to the dragons. It's not our fault if people get too close to our beauties."
