Callum sat down at the kitchen table, but he didn't bother with the food, maybe later, after he'd gotten through this he could eat. When Bill asked the question, he looked at Charlie for a moment and then faced the other man.
"I did, but no, I don't need your help." God, he knew this would sound so ridiculous to people from this time, when you had clubs with people walking around half naked and divorce was legally accepted. He hoped that it didn't sound too ridiculous, though.
"I know this might sound strange, but I was born in a very different time, and there are some traditions that are important to me. I would hope to people in general." Fuck, he really hated talking, but this was his job. "What I'm trying to say is that with your parents dead- Charlie and I want to get married, and I know how important family is to him." Even if Charlie liked his family at a distance, and he really couldn't be blamed for that. Callum would keep them at a distance too, given the choice. "So as his older brother, I'm asking you for your blessings."
