"The kids did everything." Charlie reminded Callum, "I just showed up." He let Callum busy his hands and then followed him when he left the room. It might have been a sign to some people that Callum wanted to be left alone, it probably was for Charlie, but he wasn't about to just turn around and leave now.
"We have tried to talk twice now." Charlie agreed. "And I still don't think you've understood anything I've been trying to say - and a great deal of that is my own fault, I'm not very good with words or explaining myself. It's always easier to show than say." He had a feeling a great many keepers were like that, but he'd never tried to have a relationship with a keeper before so it had never been an issue, but now it was.
"I just ... we had a miscommunication when you brought up marriage and I want to fix it, or at least explain myself so you can understand."
